작사가 ‘조니 머서’의 고향 강 이름이 Moon River(월광하 月光河)이며 어린 시절 동무인 ‘Huckleberry’를 가사에 등장 시킬 정도로 짙은 향수와 서정을 담은 명곡으로 국내에서는 TV드라마 삽입곡으로 자주 등장합니다.

 

앤디 윌리엄스(Andy Williams)부터 영국의 ‘엘튼 존’등 여러 가수들이 커버하였으며 앤디 윌리엄스의 곡은 2022년 미국 국회도서관이 국립음반 기록소(The National Recording Registry) 보관을 위해 선정했습니다.
