Skeeter Davis(미)가 1962년 발표한 컨트리 팦 ‘The End of the World’는 사랑의 이별을 뜻하는 가사와 달리 작사가 Sylvia Dee가 부친의 죽음으로 인한 슬픔을 노래의 분위기에 담았다고 말했습니다.

 

우리나라에서는 60년대 본인 고교시절 널리 유행해 따라 불렀고 ‘이씨스터즈’의 번안곡 ‘이世上 끝(1964)’도 인기를 얻었습니다. ‘장계현과 템페스트’ 커버도 있습니다.
