패티 페이지(Patti Page)의 ‘I Went to Your Wedding’은 한국동란기인 1952년 발표 이후로 세계적 명곡입니다. 6.25전쟁에 참전하신 선친께서도 젊은 시절 애창하셔 멜로디가 나의 어린 시절부터 뇌리에 각인된 노래입니다.

 

사랑하는 사람이 다른 사람과 결혼하는 모습을 바라보며 눈물 흘린다는 내용을 담은 노래로 6.25 전쟁 전투에서 중상을 입은 미군 병사가 귀국해 전 애인의 결혼식에 참석한 실화에 근거했다는 설도 있는데 사실여부는 확인 할 수 없었습니다.
