‘Unchained Melody’는 1955년 교도소 영화의 주제가로 써졌습니다. 1965년 라이처스 브라더스(The Righteous Brothers) 커버 버전(노래_ 바비 햇필드)로 유명해진 이후 표준이 됩니다. 라이처스 멤버인 바비 햇필드(Bobby Hatfield)와 빌 메들리(Bill Medley) 둘다 솔로로 부르고 싶어해 동전 던지기 결과, 바비 햇필드로 결정됐다는 일화도 있습니다(출처 wikipedia). 

 

전세계에 설쳐 670명 이상 가수가 1500회 넘게 취입(recording)한 이 노래를 우리나라에서는 1977년 1세대 혼혈 트로트가수 박일준(1954년~)이 '오! 진아'로 번안 발표해 많은 인기를 끌었습니다.
